CopsCats
We work every day for street cats who have no voice and struggle to survive. Our main focus is neutering, as uncontrolled breeding is the root cause of the massive overpopulation on the island. Neutering is the only sustainable solution. Since our founding, we have carried out more than 4,000 neuterings.
We work directly on the streets, caring for feeding stations and entire colonies, while closely monitoring the cats’ health. We also take in emergency cases: injured, sick or abandoned cats and kittens who would not survive without help. They receive medical care, rehabilitation and, when possible, the chance for a new home in Germany, Austria or Switzerland.
CopsCats is not a shelter and receives no government funding. Free-living cats are returned to their colonies after care, ensuring our capacity remains available for urgent emergencies.
Education and awareness are key parts of our work, alongside rescue and care.
CopsCats is run by two dedicated people and supported by committed volunteers. Our work is entirely donation-based.
